Was hard to put down. Set in Lake Superior's Isle Royal National Park. The Author is a retired Madison WI detective so there is authentic detail of the investigative process. Also great description of the Isle Royal area which is amazing all to itself. The wild extremes of being a ranger in that setting adds to story.

Montie brings the reader along as he develops the characters engaged in detective work, showing the relationships detectives have with police brass, District Attorneys, and other agencies.

I'm a retired police detective, avid boater, and lifetime admirer of Lake Superior. I have two boats, a Chris Craft Speedster and a classic, Thompson Brothers, wood lapstrake boat. My Thompson is a 1964 Seamate model.
I am also an author who has written a series of crime novels based on my training and experience. The first, MAD CITY JUSTICE, takes place mainly in Madison, Wisconsin. The second, SUPERIOR JUSTICE: MURDER ON LAKE SUPERIOR, takes place on Lake Superior, mainly, at Isle Royale National Park. The third, MADELINE ISLAND JUSTICE: MURDER IN THE APOSTLE ISLANDS was just released. They can be read separately, but are chronological. I hope to have book four out next fall.
